Remembering Angela
This site was created in memory of Angela Ambrosio. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Born in New York
DECEMBER 13TH, 1937
We say goodbye to our loving mother, Angela Lucille (D'Agostino) Ambrosio, who passed away on October 8, 2023. She was the devoted wife of Aniello (Neil) Anthony Ambrosio and the loving mother of Claire, Neil, and Elliott. She also mothered Lucy who unfortunately did not survive her birth.
On December 13, 1937, Angela Lucille D’Agostino was born in East New York to Alexander and Carmella D'Agostino. After attending Dominican Commercial High School, she worked for the FBI for 10 years. On October 27, 1962, she married her beloved late husband, Neil. They enjoyed an incredibly happy marriage for 43 wonderful years and were blessed with four beautiful children: Claire, Neil, Lucy, and Elliott.
Angela was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother inspired all her family and those whose lives she touched. Those whose lives she touched know she never backed down from a challenge.
Angela was always there for her children, whether they needed help with homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith and valued family above all else. She worked hard and always did what was morally correct. She was an example to all those around her and served as a role model to all. She was tough but fair and never expected from anyone anything she was not willing to do herself.
She is survived by her children Claire (and husband James), sons Neil (and wife Cydni) and Elliott (and wife Linda); grandsons Christopher, Anthony, and Dylan;, sister Marguerite (and husband George), nieces Ruth (and husband Jim), Esther (and husband Eric), and Christina (and husband Chris); cousin Matthew (and wife Jackie and children Cathy, Vincent, and Matthew); a total of three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, eight grandnieces, three grandnephews; and countless friends. Her wonderful and loving brother Vincent predeceased her in 2019.
In the last few years of her life, she was surrounded by and cared for her very large and well-fed cat (Walter “Wally”), four small dogs Dora, Giuila (named for her), Samuel, and puppy Una (whom she helped deliver!), and her granddogs White Socks, Blackie, and Catori. She also cared for her senior companion dog, Ginger, who predeceased her on Christmas Eve in 2022.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church on October 16, 2023. The service will be streamed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church https://stcpaz.org/
“Mommy, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.” – Claire, Neil, and Elliot.
